target/linux/generic disables CONFIG_VT and this fragment switches it
back on, along with the dummy console and the console translations.
No fbdev or DRM display driver is enabled here, so the terminal has
nothing to bind to; it is kernel size every image pays for. Drop it.
The serial console is unaffected and INPUT stays enabled in its own
right.

The fragment builds fbdev core, the framebuffer console, the fonts and
the boot logo for one driver: xen-fbfront, which gives a Xen guest a
display through the vfb protocol. It also builds the backlight class with
nothing to light. No fbdev or DRM display driver is enabled and no module
package provides one, so on bare metal none of it draws anything.
Drop the lot, including the virtual terminal layer. A Xen guest keeps its
console on hvc0.

Backport v7.3 phylink patches to the generic target required for the
latest fwnode phylink PCS patches which support multiple (sub-)targets,
including MTK and qualcommax.
This update includes better PCS release logic, switch to full notifier
add/release PCS handling, devres managed PCS provider variant and
general code improvements.
In addition, update every user to the latest fwnode phylink PCS API.
In the latest API, fwnode_pcs_add_provider() returns a pointer to
the provider or the error code instead of the previous plain return
value. As such, update error handling and add a descriptive error
message upon failure. Also the provider remove logic changed and with
the support of devres API, switch every user to devm_ variant.

Move the existing AS21xxx patch series from the Airoha target to the

application order. Refresh the affected generic, Layerscape, and ramips
patches without functional changes.

The profiles.json[1] in generated and used during ASU sysupgrades takes
DEVICE_NAME as profile name which break ASU sysupgrades, use BOARD_NAME
which serves the same goal as overwriting DEVICE_NAME, allowing
sysupgrade-tar's checks be succesfully passed using the old name used in
older installations. Without affecting the generated profiles.json, thus
recovering ASU support.
*Keep the non-stardand device name with suffix "-mtd"(replaced underscore
by hyphen) to remark that this device is also supported in the armsr
(armvirt) target as originally intented[2].
*I think I have fully checked the sysupgrade path to confirm this change
does not have side effects.

Linux 6.12 has been validated on Layerscape platforms, including NXP

boot, networking, storage, and common peripherals, with no regressions
observed.

On the LS1012A-FRDM both PHY reset pins are tied to GPIO1_23.
Up to Linux 6.6, pinctrl did not touch this GPIO and the reset
line remained in the state set by U-Boot. Starting from 6.12,
the kernel requires explicit configuration of this pin, otherwise
the PHYs fail to be detected.
This adds a gpio-hog node to ensure the reset line stays asserted,
fixing PHY detection on boot.

Backport phylink patches for PCS/PHY caps OPs. This makes it easier to
align future generic PCS patch and permit supporting special PHY that
needs specific tune if "in-band" mode is enabled (for example Aeonsemi
PHYs)
This is also mainly using the upstream version of the Mediatek patch
739-net-add-negotiation-of-in-band-capabilities.
All affected patch automatically refreshed.

The CONFIG_NET_SWITCHDEV option is needed by CONFIG_DSA and some other
options. It is boolean, we have to compile it into the kernel it self.
Activate it for all targets in the generic configuration, it is already
activated for most of them. This allows to install DSA drivers as a
module.
On the ramips/mt7620 target the kernel would grown by 4.5kB.
For some small targets which do not support a DSA switch by default the
option is deactivated.
