When ieee80211_check_combinations() refuses a channel, _ieee80211_link_use_channel() tries to evacuate a NAN channel and then returns the result of that attempt. Without a NAN interface the attempt returns -ENOENT, so a refused interface combination reaches userspace as "No such file or directory" instead of the error of the check.
