The upload body goes through an io.TeeReader, so Go frames the request as chunked. Against a backend that answers before the client has finished sending, the queued payload was counted anyway and both the reported rate and bytes_sent came out several times too large. Backport the two upstream commits that fix it, released in v1.0.14. A version bump would need its own go.mod downgrade instead: 1.0.14 moved the go directive to 1.25 and raised five dependencies past Go 1.23.
